Kiko Lipliner and Nail Varnish || Review And Swatches

June 27, 2014

Recently, I went to London (post coming soon, once I condense all the photos down!) And in a recent "London Haul" Blog post (which you can read here), I mentioned that I bought some makeup from "Kiko". I've heard a lot of beauty bloggers rave about this brand, and as far as I know, there isn't any shops in Scotland, so I was quick to snap up a few pieces when I was in London! So anyway, onto the review!

I'll start with the lipliner. I have no idea what shade this is, I think it is 607, but I an't find it on the website anywhere! I got this for the bargain price of £1.80! It was on a special offer, it's usually £5.20 I believe.
First of all, I love the packaging, it's very sleek, and in my opinion, expensive looking. The black box really reminds me of MAC packaging, which is a good thing, seeing as it's a fraction of the price! It's also an absolutely fabulous red, as i'm sure you can see from the swatches! It could easily be worn on it's own (I have done this, and it lasts ages!) It's also not drying at all, and like it's name, it is extremely glossy! I was a bit wary of a glossy lip pencil, as I half expected it to slide ff my lips, but it stayed put! When worn under red lipstick, it really makes the red pop.
I am a sucker for a red lipstick, but i've never owned a red lipliner, until now, and i'm so glad I finally have a red lip pencil in my life. If I go anywhere with a Kiko, I will definitely be picking up more of these gems!

Next, the nail laquer. Again, I have absolutely no idea what colour this is, and I cannot find it on the website, but ah well, onto the review! I got this also for a bargain, I think it was £2.50, which is absolutely amazing! I picked this colour, after a lot of deliberation (i was close to picking up at least five, but I restrained myself!) I I am in love with the colour. It's a pearly nude, but once put on nails it's definitely more of a rose gold colour, and you know how much I love rose gold! (a lot).
What was really amazing about this polish was that I found it to be opaque after just one coat. I do put two on, but I think it's more out of habit than anything else. It lasts a good 4-5 days without any real chipping, which is one of the longest lasting nail varnishes I have! I also don't usually keep the same nail colour for more than 5 days, so that's absolutely perfect for me.
The colour itself is the perfect shimmery nude. It matches my skin tone really nicely, and I will definitely be wearing this on holiday, as I think it will look great with a tan! This is a product I will be buying more of in the future!

Overall, i'm really happy with these purchases, they are really amazing, and also super affordable! Have any of you tried these products? What did you think?
