I've had this product on my 'reviews to do' list for quite some time now, but for some reason, I haven't got round to it... Until now!
Being a huge lover of the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, when I spotted this in Boots, on offer for £3.99 (yes, you read that right!) I decided I needed it in my life. I had really high hopes for it, as the concealer of the same name has been a staple in my makeup bag for years now, but I have to say, I was a little disappointed. Read on to find out why.
I'll start with the packaging. I think it looks really cheap, and quite frankly, not very nice. I know it is a cheap brand, and image isn't the main aspect of a product, but I still think it's important. However, the writing doesn't rub off on this, unlike the concealer, which is a good thing! I am really happy that this is has a pump, because I really hate foundations without a pump.
Much like the concealer, the foundation claims to last 16 hours, give flawless coverage, minimise imperfections and be oil free. Unlike the concealer, I dont find all of these to be true. I think it is definitely oil free, as I have oily skin, and it did help make it look matte. It definitely doesn't last 16 hours, more like 3 or 4, which isn't that great for a foundation in my opinion. I don't mind having to top up my makeup, but I really don't want to have to top up my foundation. I think it has quite a high coverage, and it definitely hid redness, and small spots, but it did sit quite strange on my skin. I needed to be quite sparing, otherwise it just looked quite cakey.
Another thing is that it dries super fast. Almost too fast. I usually put a couple of dots arund my face, and blend them in, but with this foundation, if I did that it left a mark of foundation if I didn't blend it quick enough. To solve that, I just put it on parts of my face at a time, so I can't really complain.
The shade range is pretty bad, in the Boots I went in, they only had four shades. However, I was really lucky in that the shade suited my skin really well. It looks quite orange in the swatch, but once blended on my face it doesn't look orange at all.
This foundation retails foor £5.99 (get it here), and I think it's a really great price, but i'm not sure i'd buy it again. This might just be my skin, so I think it's definitely worth a try, if you see it on offer, as it might work better for you!
Thanks for reading.

  2. I absolutely adore the lasting perfection concealer, and i had no idea that they had brought out a foundation too! £3.99 is a very good price, but i am a bit shocked at the retail price of £5.99 since Collection is suppose to be one of the cheaper brands. I shall keep my eye out for it in Boots, but after reading your review i am unsure whether i would buy it, since my pale skin is a bit tricky to match up!!

    1. Thanks for your comment! I was quite shocked too, and I would not buy it at full price! It is a great price for a foundation, but not for Collection. I think its definitely a case of just going in, and testing it out, and seeing if it matches!
