2014, You've Been Good To Me || Year Recap

December 31, 2014

Ah, good old 2014 is almost over. This makes me both extremely pleased, and extremely sad. More so the latter. It's been an extremely busy year for me, arguably, the busiest year of my life. A tonne of things have happened, such as Prom, Leaving School, Going to London, The Commonwealth Games, Big Weekend, Going to Menorca, moving away for university, and that's only a few! I thought for my last post of 2014, what better thing to do, than recap the year? So without further ado, lets go!
-warning- this post contains a tonne of photos, just giving you a heads up!

Duke of Edinburgh with a few great people, such a tiring, but fun and hilarious weekend!

These girls surprised me for my 18th birthday. Nobody could do anything for too long (e.g. a night out) so I just assumed we were doing nothing, and when I cam back from work they were all in my house to surprise me, how lovely!

Last day ever of school in May, it seems like so long ago!

Y'know, just chillin' with Barack in London with two of my bestest pallies, as you do!

Some of my flatmates! Starting a new chapter at University an hour and a half away from home, and I am absolutely loving it! I definitely made the right choice!

Prom with my favourite people! Despite being loaded with the cold, it was a lovely evening!

Halloween at The Union in Dundee. I look absolutely tiny in this photo, but it was a pretty good night.

Prom again, with a group of people who i've been close to for a good few years now.

Back to Dundee with some new friends this year (and some old!)

With my faves on my Birthday!

Me and the siblings this year on holiday in Menorca. (I wish I tanned like my siblings!)

me with my siblings, and the amazing people we met on holiday.

For my mum and dad, we decided to recreate old childhood photos as we were now. This is an example of one.

Way back in January, almost a year ago, I met You Me At Six, and saw them perform live in HMV Glasgow. Such a great night!

In May, I saw my childhood come to life. I saw McBusted at The Hydro!

Just a silly photo of me and one of my best friends on our last day of school!

Making a human pyramid on the last day of school, as you do!
Yet another photo of the last day of school!

Big Weekend came to Glasgow this year, and I was lucky enough to be able to attend both Saturday and Sunday. It is definitely one of the major highlights of 2014, as I saw so many of my favourite artists in music right now!

London! At the Warner Bros studio tours with one of my bestest pallies Cara. The main highlight of 2014 for me, for sure!

Outside Privet drive. Standard.

I love this photo! Duelling at Kings Cross Station!

Me posing for a cheeky photo at Platform 9 3/4!

Back to Prom again with some truly great people.

Aw, this photo makes me laugh! This was our dance show in June, it was such a fab night! Sad though, because it was my last dance show!
Back to Menorca, and the amazing people there that I will never forget.

Volunteering at the Commonwealth Games! It was a truly unforgettable experience. I loved every minute of it.

The wrestling volunteer team at the Commonwealth Games. A great week of my life.

Coincidently, I ended up volunteering alongside Isra, a girl who I went to Primary school with! We used to be really friendly, but we haven't seen each other since we were about 11!

The Wrestling IF Team alongside Mattyas, our coordinator at The Commonwealth Games.

Posing with Clyde, the Commonwealth mascot!

We took a crash corse in spells at the Studio tours! Hilarious.

Outside Buckingham palace, as you do!

There was an event held after the commonwealth for the Volunteers, and I was lucky enough to be able to attend.

Me and my good friend Laura outside the huge statue put up in George Square for The Commonwealth Games
And lastly, me and a few friends at Big Weekend! It was honestly such an amazing two days and I loved every second of it!

I always get emotional at the end of the year, as it's almost like leaving all these memories behind. It makes me upset that that's another year gone, and I always feel like I could have done more in the year, made it count, but I think 2014 is definitely a year that I made count. I've made so many memories to count, and I am actually quite sad to leave it behind. Obviously this year has not been all fun and games, far from it! It's had it's lows, too many to count, but those i'd rather keep private, and those I am glad to leave in the past.
Overall, 2014 has been fab, roll on 2015!
See you in the new year!

  1. I get so emotional at the end of the year, I don't know what it is! I think neon leg warmers are just the uniform for dance shows, I miss dancing so much and just generally being young enough to wear neon! Really sweet post, pictures sometimes speak bigger volumes than words!
